POETRY READING: Thursday, Feb 2, at the Wright Opera House Tavern, in Ouray, CO. This is an annual winter series at the Tavern, and Ouray is so fun. Why not plan a trip including some poetry, some hot springs, some x-c skiing (or even Alpine at nearby Telluride), some browsing at a wonderful bookstore, or just kicking back at a cafe to enjoy some of the most amazing scenery in the state?

POETRY PUBLICATION: South Dakota Review issue 57.1 has just arrived with two of my poems, “This Time When It Burned,” and “Sandstone.” I love that SDR has been around for so long and had such stable helmsmanship. Back in 2009 they also carried a story of mine. They’re worth subscribing to.

POEM PUBLICATION: Iron Horse Literary Review has released its NaPoMo (National Poetry Month) issue, containing my poem, “Desire for Desire,” on page 6.
BLOG POST: Psychologist Deborah L. Davis blogged about Double Negative for Psychology Today. The editors bumped her piece up to a featured post on two of their main pages: morality and ethics, and parenting.

STORY PUBLICATION: My long short story, “Path of Service,” is now up at The Write Launch. Because of the length, it might be most comfortable to read on a laptop or tablet, or save it to Pocket and grab it on your e-reader from there. Enjoy–it’s a sad but, I happen to think, pretty funny story.

STORY ACCEPTANCE: I don’t write much flash. Most of my fiction is over 6K words. But I’m happy to say that Overheard Literary Magazine will publish my first flash piece, “She Said, He Said,” in February 2022.
STORY ACCEPTANCE: The Write Launch has taken a long short story, “Path of Service.” Out in Jan 2022.
POEM ACCEPTANCE: Iron Horse Literary Review has named “Desire for Desire,” a poem, as a finalist for its NaPoMo issue. All finalists are published. And paid! Out in April.
